Can someone clear up the fan behaviour for me (maby an official answer from a reseller)?
Ive read about it before in the owners lounge but i havent found a definite answer. Sometimes i can hear the fans pulsing (at low revolutions) like theyre not getting enough voltage and at full blast theyre reducing and upping speed at regular intervals. Is this the EC control normal behaviour or is it just defective fans?

I experience pulsing too but only on my CPU fan and not from my GPU fan.
It only occurs when I have used the fn-1 override to max out the fans.
Very odd but I've got used to it now - the fans look easily replaceable anyway if something goes wrong.

I checked with my reseller before - it's normal behaviour, the pulsing occurs when temperatures are low but you use fn-1 to max them out. It's designed to be like this and happens to everyone so don't worry about it!

The pulsing ceases at higher temperatures with fn-1 after you hit a certain treshold.

Well i get fast pulsing at low rpm and when maxed they reduce speed at a few second intervals and increase again which is even more noticable.
Just after my last post though my cpu fan started rattling badly... Seams that one will need replacing.

My CPU fan doesnt even turn untill I start doing something CPU intensive. I was worried when I saw it not turning and monitored it while running 3D Vantage. It came on slowly and then during the CPU testing it really sped up. Then stopped after the test was over. These cpu really run cool, and the factory heatsinks are very good at dissipating the heat.

Thats probably why i didnt notice the rattle before, the CPU fan turns on really rarely and even then spins very slowly until youre doing something really intensive :).

Rattles are another thing altogether, just have your reseller send you a new fan. It's a simple 3 minutes job to remove and replace either fan.

I know, i already did. Mainly i just wanted to know if the pulsing and speed changes at max speed are normal.
