Hey All. I've been scanning through the forums and other sites and this seems like the best place to get advice.
Running an old P150HM from new - customer build. It's got a 460m in it and quite frankly, it's getting hot enough to cook an Egg. Now clearly, I know this is not good. I'm going to clean it all out yet again and hope that holds it for a while, but I'm wondering if it's got to the point that the GPU Sealant has worn down/expired/melted and I need to re-do it with some new Artic Fox or something?
I spent over £1.2k back then on it, so I've got over 5 years from it, which is by all standards pretty good going - but really want it to last a little longer.
Thanks in advance for any tips/advice.

Also make sure the fins of the heatsink and fan are clean.

I did order some last night. Arctic MX-2 Thermal Compound - hopefully this will suffice?
I had a root around last night and not entirely sure how to detach the GPU from the board. I'll have a look for the manual online. Is it fairly easy? I've pulled out all the fans and drives, etc before to clean it, so I assume it's not that hard. Also, finally, how long should I leave it for once the paste is on before i boot it back up?

I have done. Bought a "DustBlaster" air canister yesterday and used that last night. Nothing overly bad, little dusty but gave it a good clean a couple of months ago.
General Update.
So, I downloaded hardware monitor last night to check the temps and it's telling me it's bouncing around 67-68 degrees with a max temp showing 74 degrees. The CPU seems to be running at 84 degrees as well.
Should I look at pasting both of them, or just GPU for now?
I also tried the "FN+1" command, which I never knew about, for the fans. It seems to work well on the CPU and cools it, you can definately feel the air being pushed out on the right hand side, but nothing for the GPU Fan...*shrugs*
Cheers for the advice. -

You can repaste but at those temperatures you don't have to.

CPU might see a little benefit from repasting, but your graphics card temps aren't too bad at all.

Ok, then I assume it's a design thing, as it's burning up big time *Shrugs* Welp, if it's sposed to run that hot, I'll leave it for now
Thanks for your assists guys n gals. -
One thing to note that it is a Fermi card too; last I heard or used the cards they are real infamous for heat issues like this.

Yeah, 80s Celsius on the CPU is still safe, but a repaste likely would bring it down a bit if you want to consider it. IC Diamond and Gelid GC Extreme are good pastes, not very expensive, and are not electrically conductive; I recommend either of those (there are better compounds, but they are electrically conductive, more expensive, and require a lot more time and attention to application).
