I'm considering a trade with someone nearby on campus offering a 27" 2560x1440 IPS monitor. Will the 485m in the P150HM drive this high of a res? It requires a DVI-D port, which I have, so that much checks out. The highest I've ever pushed is a 1080p screen otherwise.

For anyone interested, this is the monitor in question: http://www.overclock.net/t/1225919/yamakasi-catleap-monitor-club

    According to the specs here:

    GeForce GTX 485M - GeForce

Yes you are good on that front, you will need a dual-link DVI cable or a HDMI cable to drive it.

Old Dell XPS laptop, but the trade fell through. I found out that those monitors only go for $280-320 brand new, so I'm just going to keep the laptop and buy one of those displays anyway. I had to do some research on the models before I saw that the trade wasn't a good deal. Ideally, if the first monitor works out I'll be buying a total of three for my new desktop setup and to dock my P150 with. It'll be a nice step up from my current triple display resolution of 5280x1050 since I'll be sitting on 7680x1440 this way.
