Hey there, ive had an issue with my clevo horize p150hma. Reading through the forums i see other people have had the same deal. IS there a possible way to fix the issue, without having to upgrade the card?

    http://i.imgur.com/Q8zUiuf.jpg

Image of the green column lines occur consistently, unless the wallpaper is fully black its only on the desktop icons and bar.

Hopefully there is an alternate fix, ive attempted repasting my gfx and cpu with artic silver to no avail. Currently poor at the moment so i dont want to upgrade to a new gfx card unless i can get a tax rebate.

Probably dying, 6990m loves to die =), get ready to buy a 7970m. The good side is that the 7970m is like 70-80% better than 6990m

And the fact that you won't have to deal with any enduro issues.

Sadly no. You'd have to redesign the motherboard.

I have a perfectly functioning 6990m in my Clevo P150HM but I've considered upgrading my GPU. Who would I buy a 7970m from and is it really just a yank and replace process?

They get hot so it puts the solder under stress as it cools. That fix won't last forever.

Well its about time i upgrade my graphic card. Finally i have decided that if i want to game i can only do it with an upgraded card. Tossing up options for card upgrades and whats the max capability of a p150hm, price ranges and depreciation of a new card. I only play two games that are dota 2 and csgo, mainly on my pc but on my lappy when over at friends places (which im no longer capable since my lappy gfx is at extinction). Dont know whether i should invest in a new card or a new happy as whole, because processor and ramwise im still capable of doing the rest of the work i do, its just gaming is restricted by my graphics card heating issue. So the only gaming i do is on my pc. Portable gaming is the only benefit i recieve with my lappy. If i do upgrade my card, what else would i have to upgrade, power supply? And is there cheap places other than ebay

7970M with non enduro vbios or the 680m with its original shipping vbios.

The thermal pads will need moving but otherwise you would be good to go.

Is it possible for me to get an amd HD dell 7970m for m15x, m17x ... And have a way to convert it or replace a certain part of that card? Since they seem a lot cheaper on ebay

No. Dell cards incompatible with clevo ec. Will cause overheating issues.

Trolling a bit, please don't take me too seriously, but Dell cards are incompatible with Dells as well. I had an Alienware M15x (old workhorse) with a Radeon 5850, and its BIOS refused to recognize a Radeon 5870 that was a working pull from an Alienware M17x. The irony was flashing the 5850 to a 5870 vBIOS would work without any problems...

My 6990m has been baked at least 10 times and it's still going strong lol... But I would be careful with a 7970m as my brothers just died on him with the EXACT same issues that I had with the 6990m (booting in VGA mode works fine, otherwise black screen after windows logo). Fortunately for him I made him purchase the 3 year warranty so it's covered.

That sounds like a freak issue, it's not the norm for those machines.

I should clarify. The card was working, however the Alienware M15x did not recognize the temp sensor, vBIOS or something like that. The end result were system fans running at 100% all the time. Imagine using a laptop that made that kind of a noise.

Any suggestions? I have also reinstalled the drivers and tried different ones to no avail

What does your device manager say under network devices?
Is your wireless network device disabled under Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings ?

It is there and enabled but every time I switch it to 'on' with the software and that it doesn't actually switch it to on even with the fn hotkey it says on then I think goes straight to off

Are you using Kaspersky antivirus by any chance? If so try disable/uninstall it, and re enable the adapter.. even if you have another antivirus try disable that

Yeah might try I got nod that's what I normally use, hopefully that would work.

Another issue is that I'm getting like crackling from audio, even if I use headphones same deal, could that be an issue with the current on the board? Or possibly from the gfx card cause that card can't run any video intense processes like games

Like really noticeable crackling? Does it happen when listening to music too?
I always found the audio in Clevos to be the most terrible audio I've ever listened to. I own a soundblaster usb audio card that I always use and I swear it makes the music sound 10x better

Soundblaster is just the model name for mine. Any external USB sound card will work. Search up online or something!
