Hey guys, first post here, so be nice :) also, I'm not a native english speaker, so...

Here we go, two months ago I bought a Clevo W860CU with the following specs: i7-740, 500gb 7200 hd, gtx260, 8gb 1333 ram

I was very impressed with the laptop, everything went fast and smooth but there was one small issue: on some colors, the screen flickered (I mean, like a CRT!), especially dark ones, for instance, the websites LiveScore.com : Soccer Live Scores and Music News @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com have left and right dark gray backgrounds based on gif or wtv, which really bothered my eyes. I updated the bios, drivers, tried different OS and browsers, and nothing provided me a solution, except lowering the resolution, which is a no go.

I decided to phone my local reseller, explained the problem, and he proposed me the trade of my W860CU for a brand new P150HM of equivalent price. So, I went for a i5-2520, 8gb 1333 ram, 500gb 7200rpm hd, gtx460m laptop with the fhd screen I wanted so bad... which has the same exact problem on the higher resolution setting (1920x1080) than the previous laptop!

Did any of you had the same problem? I already searched the foruns (and google, for what it's worth), but found nothing :(

Finally, I can't get the subwoofer to work on this (the THX software claims that there is no device available for selection and the latest Realtek drivers only let me choose stereo, quadraphonic, 5.1 and 7.1, no 2.1 :( option).

I feel somewhat sabotaged by Clevo :(

Are you running on battery or AC? Does it do it on all the sites, or only those two? (it could be issues with those specific sites, more than a hardware issue). If you're running on battery, you may have your power settings throttled too much.

As for the subwoofer, did you register the THX software? It won't run the sub until the software is registered, then you should have no problems.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply.

Both on battery and AC, and on more websites and programs than those two (only mentioned them as examples). I double checked the GPU clocks and everything :)

As for the THX, it's running now, thank you!

Do the backgrounds constantly flicker or just when you scroll? On my desktop computer with a 5870 and an HP 2207, the LiveScore.com site will flicker into flashing grey and black bands when I scroll the page.

    It's constant.

When I first called the reseller he told me that the problem has been reported on some machines and it was related to a chipset/graphic card incompatibility, so I've changed both but the issue remains

I have a P151HM so I can't tell you if its just your screen. Maybe other P150 owners can help. The 151 has the AUO v1 matte screen and has no problems on those sites, even when I scroll.
