Hello, I've been using my P150SM since day 1 and been having random BSOD issues. Right from the first day it started BSOD'ing so I went on myself trying to figure out where the issue was. I've reinstalled windows atleast 10 times using different drives and so on and the BSODs would still return. The last reinstall I did was back in late December and then the laptop managed to stay bsod-free for about ten days. However, the BSOD still happened and they still do happen at completely random times. Sometimes it will bsod once in a week, sometimes 4 days a day. Sometimes it will BSOD being completely idle (during night time) when noone is using the laptop. I did the memory test back in December and it came clear - no faulty ram. Having a quick look at the minidumps the BSODs do seem to be completely random.
Have anyone experienced any issues like these or can help me trace the problem?
(The reason why I do not want to return it to warranty is because the laptop was bought from completely different country shipping there takes at least a week + god knows how long it would take to get it fixed. I cant be a month or even more without a laptop)

OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120gb (Windows 7 64bit , the SSD itself has been used in the old laptop and it never BSOD)
WD 500gb black 7200rpm as secondary HDD (instead of dvd-rom)
Used USB ports - Logitech wireless mouse transmitter

Hi and welcome to notebook forums
The bsod can be hard to track where the hardware fault lies. Your best bet would have been a rma but as you in other country from place of purchase this can be understandably difficult.
I am sure some resellers of clevos may be able to offer support have you tried contacting them in your new country?

Hey i try using one of the sticks of ram at a time in different slots i know you tested it but i had a similar issue and all the mem test came back good but it was still one stick of faulty ram
cheaper to send a stick of ram back to the reseller than the whole pc -

I'm not sure whether there are any clevo resellers in the Denmark. I'm going to contact the pwnpcs and ask them for the help too, maybe they will be able to help me remotely or offer some alternative solution. I really do enjoy this laptop and it does its job perfectly, however the random BSODs do really get annoying. -
Heya, I've tried that back in December too, testing each stick individually. However, I only did 1 pass each time and I tested only the same 'slot'. (Removed all ram sticks and tested them each individually putting it onto same slot). Might as well rerun the test again having ram plugged into their own slots. One by one.

Do a real world test by just using one stick under normal use or try to replicate a BSOD if you can it might take a while but it will be worth it i havent found MEM tests to be very accurate but someone might know of a good one to use
EDIT: I test my ram by rendering HD video in sony vegas, its the only program i found to actually 'use' all of my ram -
Trying one stick at a time under normal use sounds reasonable, tho I have no idea how to replicate the BSOD since they do seem to be completely random. I'm going to do a memtest now just to see if its still clear. After that I'll try to use 1 stick on normal use for couple hours each and hopefully find something.

Going to use my old laptop while the memtest is running. However, this gave me idea - I have 8gb (2x4) sticks of ram in this old laptop and they seem fine since it is not BSOD'ing. I guess I might just try to replace the current ram (4x4) with those older 4gb x2 sticks and use the laptop for few days or a week and see if I encounter any BSODS. 8gb of ram is enough for my everyday use so I should not feel any discomfort. -
Also try taking the mouse reciever out or putting it in the USB 2 slot because my p177sm goes absolutly nuts when i use USB 2 devices in the USB 3 slots and in my previous post i meant to say that i dont find mem tests to be reliable thats just my experience thats why i render video

I don't think the p150sm has non USB-3 slots. All (3 of them) are blue. Although, I don't know about the e-sata/usb combined one. I think that one might be USB-2

Haswell systems only use ddr3L ram the L ram is for low voltage 1.35v, ddr3 ram is 1.5v so be careful

yea i think the e-sata is USB 2 because it is slow when i tested transfer speeds

I'm not sure whether I understand this correctly, but are you saying that 1.5v ddr3 ram will not work or have issues on my system (haswell CPU)? The ram this laptop came with is 1.5v (Kingston KHX1600C9S3).
It is hard for me to believe that the resellers would make such a mistake by offering incorrect ram for the system.

we just found your problem man
1.5v might work sometimes but its unstable as the motherboard just doesnt have enough juice to power it.
I have read of people using it but as it has been coverd in this forum a few times now it is playing silicone lotery -

Huge thanks for you! Going to contact pwnpcs ASAP and explain the situation to them. I'm glad that its not a major issue such as faulty motherboard or so on. RMT'ing ram is not a problem.
