    I have bought a P150SM in Aug 2014, and in many videos to improve the performance of gaming....people mention updating the bios.

    Is it necessary to do that on a laptop like mine? Or no need for it.

    You have to contact them in order to have the newest BIOS specific for your system.

    BTW you'll not have any performance enhancement by updating BIOS. But if you have plans to upgrading your GPU to the 9xx series, you do have to update BIOS to have support.

    Yes if you are willing to strike out on your own you can flash a custom one too.

    However for a standard user it is not required.
