20180806_153945.jpg 20180806_153902.jpg So a few days back I asked if this would work because I was interested in what kind of performance increase I would see over the stock GTX 980M .

So I bought the card off eBay and gave it a shot knowing that cutting a small bit of plastic would be necessary and doing some work with the drivers.

Temps are ok heaven benchmark takes it to 92° after running for just over 30 min .

I removed the backplate from the GPU as it was causing issues I suspect it was the card flexing .
The heatsink can do with some filing down in places to get a even better contact to MOSFETS

One more thing to note is that the VBios has been modified to create better stability and performance and allows for future overclocking and voltage .

I tried it on another P150SM-A but some how I think the drivers needed work as both laptops have PREMA BIOS

You could see some cooling improvements on the core if the heatsink as a whole is not flat, nice job.

Liquid metal is for after the contact is flush, it will not work properly otherwise.

There is truth to that but the core heatsink is 100% flush just the MOSFET heatsink needs a little attention

Is your heatsink two separate pieces?

The properly joined ones are more efficient generally, worth keeping in mind if you want to drop the temps further.
