    Hi everyone!

I have a strange problem to solve. The hotkey driver messes up my display brightness and causes bsods sometimes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with system recovery also.

I would like to leave it uninstalled, but then I can't disable keyboards backlight. Is there any way to disable the backlight from keyboard wihtouth the hotkey- driver?

Any help is appreciated. All windows 8 and Intel / nvidia settings have been set to not dim birghtness etc. The culprit has been the hotkey- program.

Have you tried downloading them online instead of using the ones from the disc. Not a common problem I've heard of but worth a shot Software Upgrade

The drivers on the sager site don't seem to work; I get a .net error trying to run hotkey.exe (windows 8). My k/b backlight is having an issue where it won't turn on with the old (8.0118) drivers. I can confirm the led's are working because the k/b glows blue on startup.

Thank you Hutsady for the link. I think I'll try to reinstall Windows 8 with those drivers, as I have tried both drivers from Clevos site and from the CD. 8.0114 is the current driver that I use.

But there doesn't seem to be any way to disable the backlight without the driver? Hopefully new install will clear this problem. The laptop is running preeetty fast though with windows 8, start up- time is faster than my desktop with 3770K and win7.

    Sager's version is newer: 8.0129

Even Clevo has a newer version than 8.0114. They have 8.0118. :p
