I've just been told by two different suppliers, that the 770m, 780m and 8970m cards all have different heatsinks. All the heatsinks fit the 157/150SM models.

Now, my 780m is getting to 93 degrees. So thought I'd get a replacement to test.

Could just be a faulty HS I have? Could also be that the 780m runs hot? Could have the wrong Heatsink?

    Anyone confirm the above?

I've got a 780m Heatsink on its way to me, so will see if any difference is made after the swap. Will report back when it arrives and it's installed.

Are you seeing 93C during normal game play or while stress testing like Furmark. If stress testing that would be about right but for gaming a tad high. Sometimes just a repaste of the themal compound will fix that.

Yes, I stated in the other thread that it arrived. Forgot about this thread to be honest.

I ordered a new Heatsink from Golden Star UK. I see your from Oz, so although there isn't an Australian service centre here, you might find one that will ship to you? It cost me £42 delivered.
    CLEVO - World's Service

New Heatsink rarely gets over 83degrees now. Usually steadies around 80degrees playing games on MAX.

The new HS was identical to the original, so I presume the original was damaged somewhat.

Hope you can get one sorted.

There are a couple of resellers in oz that could probably hook you up with a replacement HS depending on which of them you purchased the computer from. I know personally Metabox provide decent service and may be able to help.

Both the new and old ones were copper.
