I bought a P150SM back in January and I had problems turning it on right from the beginning however the issue then turned out to be defective RAM and i replaced it. For the past couple of months I've been having ongoing power issues with the laptop, the first issue is turning the laptop on, if I have it plugged in just via the AC adapter (no battery) then the laptop rarely starts on the first attempt, instead I spend 15+ minutes trying to turn it on as it turns on for a second or so (lights come on) then just turns off.. with just the battery in this doesn't exactly happen however I can barely get past the boot menu without it crashing..

The second issue is when the laptop just abruptly turns off during use, it mostly occurs during heavy usage (mostly gaming) so could be a heat issue, but it does also occur when the laptop is idle.

Just thought I'd ask for some input before I go back to the manufacturer

    welcome to nbr

simple solution is rma it back to your supplier.
weve seen similar issues reported a few times but as its been happening for a while get it sorted by the experts while its still under warranty.

You might have a power button issue like I do... I very very much suggest RMA-ing that thing and avoiding the headache I've been having for the last 6 months. Also, if you use Intel XTU and have battery + PSU in, it often won't boot past the BIOS splash screen before shutting off again (and usually trying to restart itself). So you can bear that bit in mind.

Good luck getting it cleared up!
