Since the past 3 months or so I have found that the Killer Wireless-N 1102 is one of the most unstable wireless cards I think I have ever used.
Nothing but a load of rubbish!
I am running the latest drivers.
My connection strength is like 60% so I would imagine rather decent really. My girlfriends laptop houses a very standard wireless card and that thing actually out performs mine!
When I switch the wireless card on and off it appears to start out very quick and then after maybe 1-2 minutes of use it runs at a very unresponsive and sluggish pace.
If there are any ideas it would be fantastic!

Has this happened across multiple versions?

Well I was trying to remember actually. Perhaps if I could find the older drivers that may be more stable. Worth a try I guess. Although it does bother me that for some reason I would have to run a earlier version. Do these companies actually never test their drivers for issues?

I sold my 1103 almost a month ago now. Am running an Intel 6300 now, no problems as of yet. I read before buying the 1103 that some people were having problems. After getting mine, it worked flawlessly for a while. I continued to read about others having problems and figured it must just be a fluke a few unfortunate people were experiencing. Then it started happening to me. I tried all of the suggested remedies including using the latest drivers, using older drivers, using Atheros drivers, resetting wireless/network settings, made sure all the antennae were connected and card properly seated, and the random disconnect problems continued. There was nothing I did that I could think of that might have altered my settings, the problems sprung up randomly after several months of perfect use.

I wonder if it's a certain kind of router chip it has issues with.

As far as I can gather I think it has to do with the architecture of my laptop combined with a rather badly designed wireless card.
If I game for around 2 hours the problems begin. I believe its a build up of heat at times which also creates the problem. I have cleaned out the fans with compressed air which has obviously helped my CPU and GPU temps. Although the problem with my wireless still persists.
Today it is perfect again though. But I have also not tried to play any games. -

I never had an issue even with a 3.9ghz i7 and a 1080mhz 680M in there. Very odd.

Try disabling the Atheros Bandwidth Manager, i know that has fixed the problem for some people.

I've been on the fence with this card for 4 months. Reading like complaints, on other forums, suggest bad drivers since Killer took over.
I'll pick up one, want fast combo card, when I see the last $50 quote come down a bit. My intel combo card runs around $20.
