Hi there i am the proud owner of my new p150em with gtx680m and have been overall extremely happy with my system except for when i have tested my system it has not performed well on cpu or physics. May results on 3dmark are on the mark on the graphics side but not physics side when compared to htwingnut's results as he has 3610 and i have 3820 results below

    Stock
    P5918, grahpics 6068, physics 6291, combined 4832
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P5918 3DMarks

Overclocked gtx680 to 854 mhz core and 2300mhz memory
    P6836, graphics 7207, physics 6240, combined 5502
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6836 3DMarks

Have tried throttlestop but not 100% sure how to use so didn't change settings just turned on and no better and have made sure i am plugged in to power adaptor and am on high performance settings

    Htwingnuts scores are

    Stock
    P6141, graphics 6099, physics 7821, combined 4824
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6141 3DMarks

Overclocked 854mhz core and 2300mhz memory
    P7168, graphics 7270, physics 7791, combined 5854
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P7168 3DMarks

Also ran pcmark vantage and only hit 1400 score as compared to htwingnut's 16136 stock

Thanks in advanced for all help

Can we have a link to your results? Probably just an underclocked CPU, it happens from time to time. Have you tried to run it more than once?

Looks like your CPU has Intel Turbo Boost turned off. This is a common Clevo "feature" that the salesman probably forgot to mention when you bought your laptop.

If you want to try running your CPU at the Intel rated speed, click on the Set Multiplier box in ThrottleStop, increase that until it says Turbo and then click on the Turn On button and minimize ThrottleStop to the System Tray area. Go run another benchmark and see if things improve.

Having Turbo Boost disabled is why your Physics score suck so bad. Make sure you are running ThrottleStop 5.00 as it is the only version that supports the new Ivy Bridge CPUs like you have.

Edit: Here are the Intel specs for a 3820QM.

    4 core: 3.5 GHz
    3 core: 3.5 GHz
    2 core: 3.6 GHz
    1 core: 3.7 GHz

When this CPU is fully loaded and all 4 cores are active, it should be able to run at up to 3.5 GHz when Intel Turbo Boost is enabled. You can turn on the ThrottleStop Log File feature if you want a record of how fast your CPU is running before making any changes in ThrottleStop.

okay so have changed throttleshop to set multiplier and put to turbo and have now got the following results

    3dmark11
    stock p6146
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6146 3DMarks

    overclocked p7207
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P7207 3DMarks

    stock x2017
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: X2017 3DMarks

    overclocked x2394
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: X2394 3DMarks

    pcmark vantage 19908
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3820QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: 19908 PCMarks

thanks for your help but you pay premium for i7 3820 and shouldn't have to use throttleshop to get the performance you pay for will contact metabox in the next few days to see why this happened.

It's no accident. The W110ER does the exact same thing. Intel Turbo Boost gets turned off whenever the GPU is activated such as when gaming. It's completely dishonest to sell a laptop that can not run at the Intel rated speed when gaming but that's exactly what is going on here. They don't have confidence in the cooling solution they are using to cool the CPU and GPU when both are being used at the same time. The cheapest solution was to disable Turbo Boost so the CPU runs far slower and cooler than the speed that Intel designed it to run at. Good luck getting this changed.

It looks like there is a problem with the bios. It sets the maximum CPU multiplier to 23 which is wrong for your CPU and that also kills Turbo Boost. If you want to create a record of what the problem is then try running my new program and click on the SnapShot button.

    MSRFinder
    MSRFinder.zip

Boot up and don't run ThrottleStop or anything else. Run MSRFinder and click on SnapShot and it will take a snap shot of all the registers within your CPU. You can upload the data to Pastebin.com and then post a link here.

I will show you what register is being setup incorrectly so you will have some hard evidence to show the company that sold this to you.

85C is still well within the Intel thermal limits so no worries. After ThrottleStop sets your CPU up properly, you might not need to run it any more until the next time you reboot.

Woah woah, is Turbo Boost disabled while gaming for all Sager owners? With my 3610QM do I need to install throttleestop to get better FPS?

Its only on Clevos W series. The above case was a driver issue. ;)

Hello. I have a lenovo y400 2013 series with gt750m with i7 3630qm and i think i experience a similar problem like you do. During gaming or when gpu is used under heavy load such as stress test, the cpu multiplier locked at 24x and not activating turbo boost. My temps are normal at around 70*c and i have to use throttlestop to make turbo boost active. For 3dmark 11 i have to do the same thing in order to get higher physics score. Without throttletop, i got 6000 for my physics score which is damn low. Can anyone post a solution for my problem please :( Thankyou!

I would head over to the lenovo forum to check if it's not limited for a good reason.
