So I know there are a lot of screen comparison threads, but I don't think I have seen this question anywhere. Pretty much I am curious about the screen brightness of the 95% gamut matte screen in comparison to the stock matte screen. From awaken's review and notebookcheck's review, it seems that lg panel is fairly bright...just wondering how the auo panel compares.

Blinding is a good word for it when at full luminosity.

Haha, thanks for that descriptive word Vahlen. For a little more concrete evidence I looked around and came to the conclusion that the 95% gamut screen is the auo b156hw01 v4. Does that sound right? Comparing the 2 reviews of these screens by notebookcheck, it seems that the lg (stock matte screen) is significantly brighter.

Review Schenker XMG P502 PRO (Clevo P150EM) Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews

Review Schenker XMG P511 Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews

    LGD02D9 (stock matte 15") max brightness 369 cd/m2
    avg brightness 329.3 cd/m2

    B156HW01 V4 (95% matte) max 259 cd/m2
    avg 247.2 cd/m2

In my mind, this is pretty significant! Brightness is very important to me so now I am considering "downgrading" my order to the stock matte screen. Any thoughts? Anyone done a side by side comparison of the 2 screens? Want to talk me out of this decision to go with the "lower quality" screen?? haha.

regular screen has worse black levels according to those reviews.

I don't know, I think i'm going with the 95% gamut screen anyway lol

Is it worth the +$100 upgrade from stock matte to 95% matte?
