Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem with the AC Adapter for my P150HM.

As you can see with the specs below, the adapter's certainly not being pushed.

With my P150HM (branded "Mouse Computer"), an FSP180-ABAN1 AC adapter was provided. Sometimes, the blue LED turns off on the AC adapter and stops providing power to the laptop, then turns on later for whatever reason. I don't know why but it seems quite spontaneous and for long periods of time.

Is this common and has this happened to any of you? And the AC adapter appears to say "FSP group" on it, I'm guessing the company who make them...do other people have adapters from this company? I would have thought it might say Clevo or Sager on it!

It sounds like you may have a faulty adapter. Even when the laptop is not in use, if the adapter is plugged in, the light should be on. Do you notice that the laptop switches over to battery power when the light goes out? If not, it may just be a faulty LED indicator light.

As for the name on the adapter, FSP Group is the company that Clevo purchases the adapters from, so that part checks out.

I would contact your retailer to see about getting another adapter if you seem to be losing power intermittently.

Hi there, wow thanks for the speedy reply.

Yes, I think so too. Yeah, the adapter acts the same whether it's plugged into the laptop or not, and it's not just the LED light, the laptop does switch onto battery.

Okay, I'll give that a try, it does appear that the adapters tend to have a 1 year warranty so hopefully my reseller will have no problem supplying me with another.

    Thanks!

    EDIT: They're sending another, thanks!

    HI Chiaotzu
I also bought MB-P 501S by mouse computer.
    I cannot speak English well.
It may be able to answer, if it explains in Japanese.

Hello Abebe! How is your laptop? MB-P 501S...is that a P150HM as well? No problem! すみません。。。私の日本語はばかですね。。。 :p

    それは。。。大丈夫!配達中です。

EDIT: 今。。。あります!It took 2 days, fast! Mouse Computer seems to have very good support!

    Heh, thanks...nice example!

Yeah, I tried it out in others and in other buildings too...I also tested out the plug to 3 prong bit in another device and it worked fine so it must be the AC Adapter box or the cable end on the laptop side...anyway, another's being delivered thanks to my reseller so I'll just wait it out.

Is anyone a genius when it comes to AC adapters...(as much as one can be)? I mean, are there any other ways of looking after them other than just not dropping it, unplugging things properly at the ends, not wrapping it around the adapter box and things like that...? I'm sure this previous one must have had some kind of problem seen as it only lasted me just over a month but any handy precautions or ways to strengthen it would be much appreciated!

There isn't much you can do other than making sure it's not physically abused. If you have "unclean" power where you live (spikes/lags in current, frequency fluctuations, etc), you may find that plugging it into a UPS or higher end surge protector will extend the life of the adapter.

I see, I think that in Japan the power is fine. I think one thing I'm worried about is that I often take the laptop from one place to another and just dump the AC adapter in my backpack. Must be careful I suppose!
