I don't have it in front of me, but my core 1 is much much cooler than the other cores...

Idle with fans maxed it went as low as 30C while the others barely reached 40C...

Under Load it maxed at like 65C while the others went over 70C...

    Anyone else experience something similar?

Just seems very weird to me that one core would run a lot cooler, its not defective etc is it (undervolted etc)? It'd be kinda hard to tell under normal usage so just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

I have the same processor, and 1 of my cores is "much" hotter than the other 3. It`s completly normal I guess. At idle right now, the hottest core is 7c higher than the coldest.

Totally normal, both the max temps and the differences between the cores. Probably different cores have different load. Remember, software is still far from being able to equally utilize all cores/threads. You can set affinity for processes in task manger to different cores, but I'd leave it as is.

Cores will often run at different temps.

I've been folding all night and all day today:

    Core #0 28C
    Core #1 36C

It all depends on how the CPU balances the core's load. If one core is carrying more, it will have higher temps.

Yup, my 2820QM also has differences between the cores.

Check with RealTemp just to be sure, I'm mostly a guy who hangs around a desktop computing forum ( Digital Storm Forums) and the majority of people there aren't fans of HWMonitor. Something to do with RealTemp reading Intel registry entries logging the direct core temps, but I dunno. RealTemp's never failed me before, and it hasn't failed the master overclocker that lurks around there lol.

HWinfo32 is also a very good tool. Plus, its author (Mumak) is frequent on this forum. He added fan control options for many notebooks here.
But judging by the screenie, those temps are totally fine and real.

After I added a SSD to my P150hm, I had to reinstall the OS. Since then, it appears my fans are running high. Any idea why? Missing driver? ITs not hot just a little loud.
