After the random black out incidents, now the whole system just won't boot up.

It will turn on but the screen LED will not light up, FN+1 will turn on fan boost, other than that the laptop is not responsive.

I've read that this could be MB or CPU problem or GPU, but most post suggest it is highly likely to be a CPU problem. Can anyone confirm if this is true ?

I've taken out RAM, CMOS battery, change a new one, took out HDD, but to no avail. Will try to get a thermal paste and repaste the CPU and see if it helps.

On a side note, the CPU have seen 80+ DegC on load, correct me if this is acceptable? If not I think I might have fried the chip to crispy food..

I doubt a repaste is going to help. Even if cooling was the issue - you would be able to at least boot before the thing got hot enough to cause problems.

If you have any other hard drives, maybe try swapping them out. IS there a sequence of any beeps when you try to boot? These can be error codes.

    Good luck to you sir!

There were no beeps, the screen wouldnt lit up. I've tried putting in another HDD but its still the same, the laptop was running fine and I was gaming on it,after a while I left it there and it went into a black screen like what happend before (I've posted a thread previously) Afterward I've tried to reboot it and it come to this state.

I might try to source for a spare CPU and try to swap it to see if it is indeed a cooked chip. But do keep suggestion coming

Also you might try making sure things are seated well. RAM especially, take it out - put it back in. Also making sure your GPU and CPU are seated well wouldn't hurt but I kinda doubt those two would be the culprit. But if you have recently dropped or jarred the laptop in anyway it may be a possbility. Sometimes the connection is still there just enough to make it work fr a while before it suddenly goes out one day. I had it happen to me once, but I would venture to guess its an extremely rare occurrence.

Your GPU died ... most likely.

I would suspect its the GPU but I always thought even if the GPU died, the screen would still lit?

Not exactly, my 6990M died a few weeks ago and my screen won't even lit up.
Bought a new 675M and now it's working.

No, as it doesn't have the IGPU routed in any way it only relies on the MXM card, so if it dies the screen won't light up.

No signal to the display means for power reasons the backlight wont come on.
