    By accident too.

Go here: AMI | American Megatrends Inc. : AMIBIOS Support

    Download AFUWIN.

Extract the files and open amiflash\Aptio\AFUWIN\64\afuwin64\afuwingui.exe (or the equivalent 32 bit file if needed, didn't test it though.)

Click OK. Listen to the power! Let the program sit there.

    Click Exit once you're done.

    Great find! Thanks :D

EDIT: Although the finding is great after a while my laptop hanged... I had to take off the battery in order to recover it. Not pleasant :S

Hmmm. I don't get it, why the necessity of a second way to trigger max fans? Isn't Fn + 1 enough?

Fn + 1 doesn't work on all laptops for some reason.

Really? That is odd... Aren't people just mixing up the combination "Fn + 1" with "Fn + F1" and only saying that it doesn't work because they are using the wrong combination, or something?

No for most people with the EM series FN+1 has been disabled, and their really is no possible way to re enable it.

Works but ultimately locks up the computer, only solution is to take battery off.I really wish that FN+1 worked for me.

Wow. Guess I was lucky then. The Fn + 1 is working fine in my Sager NP9130 (Clevo P151EM1).

Why is this issue happening to some of the notebooks and not for others? Something related to the version of the BIOS?

Solution works but is not useful as while that thing is open, you cannot launch any programs and existing ones give not responding error.

Oh, now I get it, thanks.

Yeah, people tend to abuse these things, while it should be more of a in case of emergency thing... But it can be very useful, I would rather have they include it than not have the option to quickly cool down my notebook when I really need it...

Edit: Isn't it possible to solve this problem just by putting the EC firmware used by Sager and Eurocom in the notebooks retailed by these other companies?

Yes and some people have already done that in the BIOS thread.

    To quote Sheldon Cooper: "Drat!"

I have to admit I did not test it for very long at the time and may have rushed to post...

For what its worth, I have an Eurocom P151EM and the FN+1 function doesn't work for me.

Where did you get your EC from? Like an idiot I didn't back mine up that had Fn+1 now I don't have it. :(
