I recently bought an i7 3630QM to upgrade my current i5 3230M in my P151EM1 (bought from an Australian reseller), but after I swapped my current i5 with the new CPU my laptop just didn't want to boot. It still booted up with the i5 in it. I have the latest PremaMod (v17/v11) for my laptop, I also tried resetting the CMOS.

Before I contact the seller for a DoA CPU, I was hoping there was possibly anything I didn't think to try.

Sounds DOA. If you have latest BIOS that supports IB it should work.

Also next time get a 3720qm or higher you will be able to unlock 4 extra turbo bins with premabios. Can't do that with 3630qm

Seems like bios issues. Update bios and report
