Hey guys, I'm really just wondering if my temps are within normal range. I took a screen cap after idling for 10 mins
![]()
I didn't have HW monitor running however after 15-20 minutes of any high intensity game, I get stuttering and nvidia core temps in the high 80's often 91-92 centigrade
Its the stuttering that annoys the crap out of me. my old 8600m GT wasn't even this bad (asus G1s)
Its a P151HM1 with the GTX 560 and a 2630qm, 8GB ram, SSD blah blah.
settings are usually set for around 35-45 FPS, always at 1080p.
If anyone could explainwhy this is happening or suggest a solution I'd be very grateful; Thanks in advance!
edit:
Just ran 3dmark11 for 10 minutes, these are the temps:

It's about 25 celcius in the room at the moment, aussie winter.
Im off to bed so ill be able to reply in the US evening i guess. cheers

Hey Posty,
90 degrees is too toasty for a 560M, it'll throttle down, giving you the stuttering you're experiencing.
It may be time to try re-applying thermal paste on your GPU, I'd recommend IC Diamond 7, it's currently the best on the market. The process involves removing your bottom cover and then removing the part of the VGA heatsink covering the GPU core. Clean off the old paste residue (lint free cloth and isopropyl alcohol works good) and reapply with the IC Diamond. Screw it all back together and see how you go.
You'll find that after a few hours to break in the paste that you'll see better temperatures. PM if you have questions or need paste.

Hey guys, Thanks for the responses. I definately will re apply the paste. Where can i buy some? I knew it was too hot. Also I have a query about fan control, the fan only really turns on full once its already high temperature. anyone know what i can do about fan control?
at MrDJ, The SSD has no thermostat in it so it will always read 128 even when at room temp. I've taken it out after hours of use and its cool to touch
Thanks again -
As far as what brand to use? Well, there are a few options and everyone has their own opinion. The two I have been using are the IC Diamond and Arctic Silver 5. I know there have been a few others mentioned. -
I just bought some IC diamond 7 from a website in Australia. I forgot to meantion i'm not in the US.
Thanks for all the help, I'll bump the thread when its all back together and I'll post new temps -
This is after running 3D mark 11
All I did was take the heatsinks off the CPU and GPU, clean up the thermal paste (which was quite messy) re-apply it and clean a lot of dust out as well.
No more stuttering and my temps won't even go above 75 its fantastic
