    So got a sager NP8150.

It will be 2 years old end of this year.

It has had the MB replaced the end of last year as onboard NIC died.
The replacement MB was bad and again replaced 2 days after I got it.

It's been fine now for last 4 months with 0 issues and all the sudden today I am typing an email and screen flashes some yellow lines (not a lot just a few lines), followed by going all white and finally ending up black. After this the 3 LED by the power button start to flash together.

Any idea what the 3 flashing LED means? I assume this means is a hardware issue. I tried to google the flashing and sager/clevo but no joy.
I am not new to computers and have a high level of experience and hands on with them but this has me baffled.

I thought maybe the GPU is going bad but if I power it off and back on it seems okay again for a bit. Normally I am use to bad GPU showing funkyness in bios, windows or under load though I know anything is possible.
I figured was one time fluke when it first happened but decided to stop working and loaded up a game for a few to stress load it and sure enough 5-10 min later it did again.

What's odd is during my normal working I even underclock the GPU as I don't do anything intensive so figure let it stay cool for less fan noise.

Temps are all in safe zone when it happens. If was just during load/game would understand better going okay prob GPU but first time was just typing an email.

Anyway guess really just looking for if anyone has seen/had the 3 flashing LED on left near power button before or know what it means.
I haven't changed anything and can reinstall it I guess but my gut tells me this is something hardware. It may not be GPU but in hopes those lights can shed some light lol

Really is a bummer. I like the laptop but it's been a pain since day one. This is the 3rd one (first two got exchanged for various defects) followed by mobo replaced twice though first one was just DOA I guess but don't get as they claimed to have tested it and now this.

When it went in last time I sent power adapter and all and they stressed everything saying it was fine but do I really have this much bad luck? ugh This thing never leaves the desk, I occasionally run it on battery so it's not just always charging/cooking so not like it gets moved to be rough, I clean the vents/fan every 3-4 months and heck, the palm rest still has the plastic protector on it (I use external keyboard). This thing looks brand new still.

not sure about the 3 flashing lights but yellow lines on screen even for a short time can be the start of a bad or faulty gpu.
have you ever overclocked as you mention underclocking.
also what nvidia drivers have you got loaded.

Ugh, guess I am going with GPU for sure.

Issue happens with stock windows drivers and all Nvidia ones.

I even just reinstalled for giggles and happens.

Oddly so far only happens in windows. Bios or DOS sitting doesn't cause.

Also when it happens it alternates. Sometimes screen flickers and goes all white and just hangs at that, other times does that followed by black screen and hangs and other times while at black screen the 3 lights flash and she beeps at me.

    This really is a bummer.

And I have never over voltaged my card or over clocked memory. GPU core itself a bit but even that I ran voltage at .85 vs. the normal .87 and it's always been rock stable and when not in games I run the core clocks at 450MHz, .80v and memory at half to keep the fan noise down. Can't imagine any of this killing the GPU. Over voltage or memory OC or extreme core clocking maybe but I never cared to push it hard, was happy where I was.

GPU temp never went over 83 in summer and generally was around 79-81 when in games. CPU generally 40-70 depending on load, all of which are good.

I have also reverted all settings to stock and all and same results.

Guess I will have to see about RMA. I think have had 5 or 6 RMA in the 2 years of owning this thing. I was planning to buy the new models when released end of the year with all the new CPU/GPU etc but am afraid now with all the problems of this thing but I know others have had 0 issues. ugh, guess I am just bad luck, and to think I build and work on this crap for a living hah.

I suggest contacting Sager. Describe in detail (not exhausting detail though) what you've relayed to us.

Does this happen with Windows default driver? And/or in Safe Mode? Though I don't think it's software related, just want to be sure.
