I own a P150HM and one of the few things I hate is that during post the external monitor doesn't work and the keyboard functionality is flaky on any external keyboards also.

I set a bios password on my machine and I have to use the built in display and keyboard to enter it or anything else that is needed pre-boot. Once booted all is fine of course.

Do the newer models handle any of this better? I wish an external power button also exists so I didn't have to open the lid or leave open, but whatever.

Anyway just wanted to check on this stuff. Thought maybe as the newer stuff can use the iGPU it makes a difference somehow? hah

    Thanks!

i can comment on the p150em/np9150 (and i assume the same would be true for all the P1xxEM/NP91x0 models). external monitor does not work until post-POST. i've had no problems whatsoever with my USB keyboard pre-boot, even if i turn it on after i've been prompted for the BIOS password.

Bummer, you would think it would be a simple bios update to make the monitor work.

I guess they assume everyone has to use the built-in one, otherwise how did you press power button hah. Just annoying when I reboot for any reason have to open lid to see and type password.

I really wish Clevo put more quality and time in the bios... They make decent hardware but always seem to miss the little simple things :/ Would think going for the market they are after you would though.

    Oh well.
Thanks for the response. It at least sounds like they got the keyboard part better.

I think it's an intel graphics thing, analogue ports work but digital ones are initialised after.
