So just finally got my machine setup

    NP8255/P157SM
    4900MQ
    780M

I notice one thing, in HWMonitor my battery voltage is16.66v. That seems high considering I thought this was a 14.8v battery and that's what my old P150HM always showed. This thing starts off at almost 17v and starts to go down as the charge does (which is somewhat normal) but goes down to about 13.5v. My old work dell E6500 starts at 12.7 and at 10% is 11.1v so much smaller swing. I guess the 150HM's didn't properly report as I doubt it didn't move lol.

Also, I am running Intel graphic driver 9.18.10.3234 dated 7/9/13 & Nvidia 326.41 from the other day and have a few odd issues.

First off my WEI (yes I know that thing sucks and is useless) is even lower than what my 580M gives me. It's showing 7.3 on graphics but my old laptop w/ 580m gave me 7.4. I expected this one to be around 7.7 or so??
I also can't get profiles to work properly. The NVidia only shows two applications detected, Intel and Internet Explorer. If I manually add one, say MSI Afterburner and set to use dedicated Nvidia GPU and open the app it starts with the dGPU but switches back to iGPU. MSI won't work properly at all because it goes back and forth every hw poll.. How do you OC? Even if I open a 3d app and increase MSI speeds they don't change? Thoughts? I find it odd that the list has a lot of the built-in MS programs but doesn't detect them, just like some that I install..

During the WEI I did verify it stayed on dGPU the whole time so no idea what that useless thing scored the lower vs. my 580m...

Anyway just looking to see what others are seeing. This was a clean Windows 8 install and I did load the Intel drivers first.

WEI goes funky with optimus rendering all scores completely pointless with it.

Oh I know by no means is WEI a great thing but generally it's been my exp if something on it is out of whack by a big chunk something is wrong and in no way should my 580M out score it lol.

My FPS in games doesn't even seem much better over my 580M.

Crappy part is it could be anything lol. I didn't use but a few drivers from Sager, all the rest I downloaded latest myself.

So latest chipsets, intel, nvidia, raid etc...

I have uninstalled both intel and nvidia GPU and installed the sager ones just to see and same results.

Something else I noticed odd is in GPU-z it does not check CUDA but others with P157SM I see it checked.

I guess next I could reinstall (being I don't have anything on her yet but BF3) and use all sager drivers and see what things show.
Just annoying and these fans going on crack don't help... I don't understand why Clevo hasn't fixed it yet and Sager tells me they know nothing of any Fan issues. I sent them links to others and said they would check on, but I don't expect any fast results.

Run GPU-Z with dedicated card, i.e right click GPU-Z and choose to run in performance mode nvidia... That way it will show Cuda

Oh sure, you couldn't tell me this before I made a mess of my install huh??? :p

That did it, well kind of. I am unable to right click and run anything that way as it always says "You don't have the privilege to select the graphics processor in this menu" and tells me to select via control panel, which of course doesn't list anything but IE lol

So for GPU-z I manually added and it worked.

MSI Afterburner won't work this way though, I added it but it seems to cause the system to switch back and forth from iGPU and dGPU still?? Can you not overclock with MSI anymore or am I being dumb about somethin else too?

Thanks btw, seems odd I didn't find that mentioned anywhere. I had messed with it on other things like MSI but gave up as sometimes it just doesn't seem to work.

You might need to look into your account privilege settings as that is odd.

Once hooked onto the dedicated afterburner should work.

Don't think being the system administrator can give myself any more privileges :)

I have UAC disabled, full admin rights and manually assigned the msi apps exe to use the nvidia gpu but no joy.

    Thx

bummer, doesn't look like it does much beyond setting the mSATA to SSD for type.

Wish they have new EC to fix fan better.

What does everyone battery voltage show when fully charged? Is it high like mine? I show 16.7v which seems high for 14.8v battery when I look in HWmon

Cool, thx. Just wanted to make sure mine wasn't going crazy.

Seems odd they are over 13% higher on voltage. I imagine this won't be good for the life of them :/
I wish they changed the design of how the battery goes on so we could get larger ones if we wanted too. oh well.
I seem to complain too much about clevo yet buy another lol...

The voltage input circuitry for the battery will easily cope with that.
