So I have the Sager branded P157SM (NP8255-S) and my understanding from the manual is it supports TPM however under security I don't have that option shown in the image.

    I am on bios 09

    Any thoughts?

Or is this yet another thing Sager cheaped out on and had Clevo not put on the ones for them? Can any non-Sager owners see if they have it under Security in bios? I guess the next thing would be is the bios option just hidden or chip really missing...

Sager said they don't have TPM on these current models. I asked a while ago. :/

Manual shows that TPM is an option, so idk. Then again, it shows thunderbolt as an option too...

Thunderbolt may reference the 37xsm series.

    This is a bummer.

Wonder if the Clevo (non-Sager) ones got it. I know on some past models they did.
Annoys me that we get cheaped out on a part that is cheap, esp since the system is designed for it and just missing the dumb 50 cent chip. Not like anything else was needed.

TPM is not anything new. I think I have to officially say this is my last Sager machine. They make good machines and we always seem to get chumped out on the cheap things.

Heck, I am still waiting for an EC that fixes the fan getting stuck on high for a long time issue after gaming. This thing stays full blown well after I am in low 30c mark. Sager just doesn't seem interested in applying any sort of pressure to Clevo. Other resellers seem to not have as many issues doing so.

mySN (though in another country) has multiple EC and bios that Clevo made for them, but Sager we get a few bios releases and they are lacking updating everything. The latest 09 bios, Clevo version includes ME update, Sager one not. lol

Clevo lists TPM as a factory option just like the finger print reader but we didn't get because Sager probably requested not to have it to cut cost a bit more. bahh oh well I rant and complain yet I purchased it knowing some of this already so guess end of the day I am the fool lol

You could contact prema about if his upcoming unlocked bios files will show that option.

We don't know if the chip is even in the machine though and I really don't want to tear this thing apart to go hunting for it lol

I am having the same issue with a multicom p170sm-a. In the manual it's written that it should have the tmp module, but I cannot find it in bios or anywhere else. Maybe it has but it's not enabled... Any other thoughts?
