    Here's the video: P170EM /w 7970M (12.7 beta drivers) screen went crazy - YouTube

Here's the description: The screen just randomly went crazy on me after owning the laptop for almost 3 weeks. This is the first time this happened and I did nothing different from what I normally do to trigger it. In fact, I wasn't doing anything at all. My Logitech G700 finished charging and I pulled out the USB cable and this happened to my screen. To fix it, I had to do a hard reboot by holding down the power button for a few seconds. Weird.

This literally just happened to me and I recorded it to ask if anyone here has seen anything like this or had this same thing happen to them. It was very weird and I've never seen anything like it before on this laptop or any other computer I've used.

Oh nvm, re-read what you wrote. Maybe when you pulled the USB out, somehow you shocked it. Who knows how, dunno.

It's not bricked. I flashed nothing, never OC'd it or OV'd it. All the clocks and voltages are stock. Also the temps are very low. CPUs are all in the low 40s and GPU is in the low 50s. I was literally just sitting in front of my laptop not doing anything. I pulled out the USB cable to my G700 and then it happened. I've plugged and unplugged from the USB ports both left and right any times before. This is very weird. I'm not all that concerned as it could have just been a Windows glitch. Though I'm very skeptical since I have never ever seen it happen in all my years working in front of a computer. It's not like how VGA or DVI cables are loose, but almost similar.

To OP, i had the exact same thing happen to me. The laptop was sitting there doing nothing i turned and looked away for a few seconds only to see this. I hurry up and hard rebooted and it hasnt happened since. I made a post about it a couple weeks ago but didnt have the video. Hopefully its just a fluke. Like i said i havent had it happen since and thats with long gaming sessions afterwards

Have you ever had to change your screens or do any other hardware changes?

I have different graphic card than you but it looks like the same thing which happened to me when I installed the newest beta drivers for the graphic card (12.7). I have an external monitor connected and when the card was at 2D clocks the laptops monitor started blinking like crazy about 2 days after installing the drivers, but the external monitor worked perfectly.

By settings the clocks to slightly higher than 2D the screen returned to normal and I thought nothing else of it. Only happened once and my card is still using the default 2D clocks.
