The card reader on my P170EM doesn't seem to be recognizing any cards I put in it. I've uninstalled the drivers through the device manager and uninstall menu. Over the past couple days I've been trying to get it to read it picked up my micro SD card w/ adapter one time.

Any tips on diagnosing the issue?

Can you read the card in other devices/computers? It's possible that the thing just needs formatted or it may have been corrupted making it become unreadable. Typically solved by putting it into a camera and formatting it through its menu system.

Edit: Reread your post and guessing my suggestion won't be too much help in this case. Do you use your card reader a lot? I suppose it's possible that the metal contacts inside the computer may have wore away a bit causing a loose connection when you put cards in but I honestly have not heard of that happening before.

Hmm I'll check it out. Two of the cards I'm trying to read are out of cameras so I assume they are formatted properly.

Edited my post the same time you posted your reply. It is a strange issue. If you can read the cards on another computer/card reader I'd have to say something is wrong with the card reader in the Sager. Another thing you can try doing is taking a pad soaked in high purity isopropyl alcohol and attempt to swab the contacts inside the machine or on the card itself (make sure the machine is off and battery disconnected before doing so).

If it shows up in Computer Management (under Device Manager and Disk Management) and in Computer, that's a good sign. If not, it could mean the system board does not see it, or perhaps the driver install did not take properly.
