A month ago my laptop's keyboard started acting up - the computer would believe the "D" key was being pressed all the time, making that key non functional.
Because the problem seems related to the circuitry (I checked for a physical problem, took off the key cap and everything, but the key itself is fine), I ordered a replacement keyboard on E-Bay from a Chinese seller. Now, I'm aware that I needed to order a keyboard that has the same layout as the original one - Right WIN key, due to BIOS issues.
But the Chinese seller sent me the wrong keyboard: Left WIN Key!
Someone told me that I just need to physically swap the key cap.
Is this true? Or due to the BIOS the keyboard would not be useable in any case?
Currently I'm an expat in Haiti, and can't test this myself. Someone is bringing me the keyboard from Europe, and I need to figure things out before they flight here.

I'm aware that I could replace the BIOS, but PREMA has taken away his BIOS from the public, so currently not an option.
And handling RMA's + change of shipping address with Chinese sellers has been, in my experience, a nightmare.

It's the bios (ec) that handles the key assignments, so yes; swapping the key caps will be sufficient. Or you mightn't do anything at all if you can live with having the wrong sticker for those two keys.

It's sad because prema's stuff is the best i wish we could do something for him wish to know what led to this but who knows...
