    Hello all !

First off i would like to say im new here .
And this is a whole new chapter for me , since is switched to a notebook !
Before i had always extreem desktop computers such as my last build a Sr-2 .
Reason for switching to a notebook is because of a few reasons , First for my college . Second becasue im going to allot of different friends so why not a heavy gaming notebook ! :).

So right lets get to the question lol .

    1)

    I just Bought a Clevo P170em ( onder the name BTO ) And i got the GTX675M in it , Will i beable to upgrade this to a HD7970m ? .

    2) I have currently the 1.00.1 bios on my P170EM i readed that you need atleast 1.003 to use the HD7970m ? Now like i said before i had allot of overpowerd desktop machine's but i never ever did before a bios flashing on a usb stick bootable in Dos , I readed the thread here on the forum before but i cant find the commands that i have to use . If anyway could explain this propely in a few steps ?
I have Bios 1.00.4 now here (not running ) but ready to getting used i got it from the BTO website .

    3)

I still need to buy the HD7970m , i know that the guy on Ebay upgradeyourlaptop is selling them , but i was wondering does it mather which HD7970m you get ? lets say that i can get a HD7970m from Dell would there be any problems ? If there is anyone that has a HD7970m and is selling them PM me :) !

    4)

Hurray im a new member ^^

Would like to hear from you guys !

    1) Yes.

    2) Not sure, but I would check the Clevo Bios thread that is stickied towards the top of the forum. Maybe they have some answers.

    3) No, it will not really matter which manufacturer makes it.

    4) Hurray for new members!

I don't know much about laptop vid cards but someone did comment in another thread that a dell video card would NOT work in a Clevo so be warned of that. I would double check all specs before buying the card and finding out it just doesn't fit.

^^That's true. A Dell card in a Clevo will just cause freak shut downs. It won't work.

Its best to get one from a Clevo reseller and make sure you get the kit which will also include the right heatsink.

+1 Hustady, btw who makes the XoticPC videos on the youtube channel, is he on notebookreview as well?

Also yes only use the card designed for the brand as they will have a specific vbios to work with the specified motherboard. I'm not saying it won't work, just it has better compatability.

One of our guys here at the office does them. He's not on NBR though. Did you have a question, I'll be happy to pass it along.

Not really, I just think he's awesome and wanted to praise his work, he's obviously very informed and to the point, no rambling on like other reviewers.

Any reason why you didn't wait a while longer to buy your laptop with the 7970M included? That would be a lot cheaper and as a newbie, wouldn't need to concern yourself with GPU installs, cleaning, pasting and testing etc.
