    Good way to do this?

    i7-3630 2.4gHz
    GTX 670MX
    16GB RAM
    Windows 7

Or is there a way to replace the 670MX? That'd be pretty sweet.

i7-3630qm is locked cpu you cant overclock it. A small bclk overclock (5%) can be applied to it using prema bios mod. a much better option would be 3720qm, 3740qm or 3840qm. A 3940xm would be great though it still costs a lot. Haswell and broadwell are pretty disappointing in terms of both overclocking and performance gain. +400 mhz overclock on a 3720qm will have you running almost the same as a 4800qm and at a lower temperature and power. This amount of cpu power is enough for most games. Except if you play planetside 2. That game is programmed to use only a single core, and is very poorly optimized, so it barely gets 60fps at 5ghz.

670mx is an ok gpu, not too great. I suggest waiting for m295x to change the gpu, as I have high hopes it will be compatible with the em series, though this is not a surety. I have always felt that if you feel value for money is important, amd is almost always a better choice, though it can be tough with the drivers sometimes. This has changed a lot in the previous 2 years though, since enduro came out. Driver support is much better now. Personally I only ever had very few driver problems with my 7970m.

Is it possible to swap the 670MX out with a 680 or something better?

Yes, but I suggest waiting for m295x from amd. Its coming out on august 23-24.

If you decide to swap the card with 680m, get a clevo card. Dell cards dont work well with clevo.

That depends if they will work in the older machines of course.

The 670MX has a fair amount of room for tweaking with an unlocked bios, I would see if you can get the performance you want from it. See if the new cards work after you have experimented.
