    Hey guys

I'm having a couple of funky issues with my Clevo that I could use some help in sorting out.

First off, it mostly refuses to stay asleep, even when I close the lid; I hit Start -> Sleep, it goes to sleep for a few seconds, and then it wakes up again. This hasn't affected me terribly yet, as I bought it to be a desktop replacement - so it's never unplugged for too long - but every time I have to move it from A to B it's a concern. I thought it would be the fingerprint scanner, which was also acting weird, but I disabled that and it still doesn't stay asleep.

The other issue is that I can't mute it, neither through the mute hotkey on the keyboard nor through the sound control panel; when I hit the hotkey or the button through the sys-tray icon it always says "on" instead of toggling on-off. Volume up and down works just fine, as does the sound in general, it's just the mute function that's been thrown off, and I can't tell if it's a hotkey problem or a sound problem. I've reinstalled the drivers for both and it solved the problem for a little while but then it came back.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

For the Sleep issue. Do you have any USB devices hooked up especially a mouse. The sleep setting could be set to wake when the mouse is moved.

! I usually do, yeah, I hadn't thought of that. I've disabled it, and the sleep issues seem to be fixed. Thanks :D

Any thoughts on the mute thing?

I have neither issue. But I installed a fresh OS. Maybe reinstall the OS and drivers? I know, what a pain, right?

kimtyson, I didn't have it either when I installed everything, so I'm fairly sure it would fix it, yeah. Thing is, this install is about 3 months old, so what guarantee do I have it won't happen on a quarterly basis?

It is weird that it worked then now stopped. Sometimes Windows updates will cause something funky like that. It sounds like it will work once you reinstall the hot key drivers. Do it again, and pay attention to the next time you do Windows updates to see if it causes it to drop out again.

My issue was with framework from Microsoft office install. Both 2007 and 2010. I just un clicked all .net functionality programming support from the install and have zero issue now. I had to reinstall windows 8 4 times to finally figure out what the issue was though.
