So I was originally going to get an NP9170 with a 675mx (everything else stock except upgraded to intel wifi card) until I read that there would be the haswell CPUs and the nvidia 780m coming out sometime next month. This would mean that the 760m and 770m would come out then too, right?

If so, would it be worth it to wait to get a P150SM with an equivalently priced config in the ~$1500 range? Or would the (probably) higher prices of the newer GPUs/CPUs go over the price of the 675mx and force me to go over my budget or sacrifice performance?

Also, the pictures I've seen of the newer clevo models look pretty ugly... are those the optional models I read about?

Alternatively, are there any other 15.6" laptops that perform similarly to the np9170 that would fit my budget? The np9150 is no longer being sold.
Would like any and all advice.

it would be safe to say that all higher end tier nvidia gpus would be presented to the public at the same time.

since the release is so close at hand, id definitely wait with the order. the prices should be in the same range as before when considering the base config :)

also, there are two types of the upcoming sm series laptops: the new and "flashy" alienware/asus rog style, but also the classic business-style we're used to from clevo :) so u can choose which one u like better, no problem.

similar high performance 15" laptops would be offered by msi, alienware and possibly asus.

P157SM is pretty ugly looking for me....... prefer P150EM style.

I don't understand why you are hesitating between 170em and 157/150sm, you do know there will also be a 177/170sm right?

P150SM/P157SM are the successors of P150EM, where 157SM is the flashy machine and the 150SM is the one with the classic look.

P151EM has its own successor without the flashy looking version.

just go with the P150SM then :) same look, updated generation ;)

    Thanks for the input guys.

Also, I'm not sure how credible this website is, but I found these http://extremespec.net/geforce-gtx-780m-gtx-770m-gtx-765m-benchmarks/ benchmarks for the new cards. The 765m looks pretty much on par with the 675mx but the 770m scored ~800 higher than the 675mx for 3Dmark 11 and ~3000 above for 3Dmark Vantage. So I'm assuming the 765m would be around the same price range as 675mx and the 770m would be a little more expensive?

nope, u cant compare prices based on performance, ull rather have to check the position of the gpu inside a line-up. thus, 780m will probably cost as much as a 680m before, 770m like 670mx, 760m like 660m, 765m somewhere in between 660m and 670mx, and so on and so forth... :)

I does tend to stay pretty stable otherwise over time we would see them all getting cheaper or all more expensive.

Was close to opting for a P150EM myself, glad I held off.

Just wondering though, are the P150SM's mSATA interfaces capable of supporting SATA III speeds?
