Hi, I have a P170HM and W150ERM, both running Windows 7 Ultimate X64, the sound drivers installs fine, but the THX drivers arent working for neither of them, the sound in the W150ERM is really low and sounds like garbage, the P170HM sounds okay i think, but still, no THX.
The drivers i tried were from the Clevo site and the driver CD.

THX is a theater certificate. Isn't it?
Maybe you'll get George Lucas quality on optical cord with THX certified amplifier ?
If your sound is crap maybe it is issue we've got with P150HM ( speakers in a can )
Look at plastic panel where speakers are.
If you can't see any peace of your speakers, remove it. Panel not speakers
Twist it over and delicate remove rubber paint from place where speakers goes out.
You should see two elypses.
Platic part is done good, but this rubber in front of speaker ... something isn't right -
i read somewhere that i need the THX Driver or else the sound would be crap on the 150er, and there is a sticker on it with THX, also a driver on the CD, but its not working, just wondering what drivers other people are installing to get it to work. -
hello ! sorry about my bad english here what you need :
intall realtek hd audio driver 2.70 reboot
install THX driver reboot
click on TXH icon on DESKTOP (not tray icon) it will start THX Software activation via intertnet , activation code already in. after activation , reboot your laptop and click to THX tray icon it should work. -
Do you connect the notebook to external speakers then?? cause with those build in ones you will never ever get good sound cause those are crap. Cant turn crap into gold
I use my via audio card only to quickly check some music for my dj sets and then i have it connected to a creative gigaworks T20 wich arent the best speakers out there hehe , but if i need high quality i use my Arcam rDAC to transport the music to my external sound system. So if You need Audiophile sound quality there is only 1 option and thats to invest in a decent external audio solution. (mine is Arcam amps + DAC and i use J River Media player wich has the best sound there is for me)
And to the message above, my w150er has a via soundcard not a realtek
I recently did download a newer driver for it from the VIA site. Uploaded it to sendspace cause perhaps some users want to try it:
Stock driver version is: 10.3.00.30.120222
This one is version: 10.5.00.33.120608
Perhaps it will solve some peoples audio problems, but im not sure about it cause here with both drivers it works fine
Link to the newer version: Download VIA HD Audio Driver v10500d.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way -
I wish I could hear to one laptop like that in real life.
In official good reviews they always talk good things about clevo's laptop sounds. Even the W110ER, they say is impressive and has the sound that usually only comes on expensive normal size laptops...
Well, I'm tired of hearing laptops speakers, and almost all sound like garbage too (there's just high frequencies), kinda like mobile phone speakers.
In like 100 laptops I see one that has good sound quality. Like those with normal speaker drivers that look like it's metal, like the little ones on creative speakers and things like that. Only those sound good. I opened my Asus and it's just a rectangular kinda papper plastic speakers or some . The other older laptop I have is even worse, it's the same type of crap speakers, but even smaller.
ps: Good sound is what MSI extreme gaming laptops have, but they are also not cheap!
Keep Cool
