Hello I just finished configuring my MALIBAL SATORI P170HM3, and I got myself a Optical bay HDD caddy option, My question is:

Have someone successfully configured RAID on the 2nd and 3rd (optical) slots ?

I have a 128Gb Crucial M4 SSD for the system so I want to keep it that way on the SATA 0 port.

On the 2nd and 3rd SATA ports I have 2 Seagate Momentus 500Gb 7200RPM, that I want to change into RAID-0

This is my configuration right now:

However I entered the BIOS and Found Out that RAID is actually on the list of the IDE and AHCI so it does not let you choose which HD goes into the RAID Arrangement and which one is outside.

There was a small chat about it on this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/611619-finalized-my-p170hm-build.html but the question was not solved and I think this might be useful for many people as well.

    Thanks!

As an additional Note, for those who are having troubles to remove the optical device (DVD or Blu-ray disc), this is a picture of the lid on the P170HM:

My recommendation to remove this piece, is using a small screwdriver push gently the first and second clips and pull the side of the Lid, once you have those two the other two will be easier because they are orientated on the same direction, the last one is the strongest one so you probably want to leave that for the end ;)

The caddy I got is in here: Amazon.com: NEW SATA 2nd HDD caddy for 12.7mm Universal CD/DVD-ROM: Electronics it fits perfectly into the P170HM optical bay and also have the exact same slots to replace the default lid with the original on your machine! (It says 1.5GB SATA but I tested the performance and its exactly the same as my other Seagate Momentus on SATA 3)

The 2 primary hard drive slots are SATA 3, whereas the optical bay is SATA 2 so you will not be able to set those two drives in RAID in those positions.
