    hey Guys,

i have the following issue, when i'm at home i have 7.1 Speakers (creative gigaworks s750)
i can't use them in 7.1 mode, i have only 3 input jacks from my speakers green ,orange and black,
on my PC i connect them to my X-FI card without any problem and all the speakers works ,
but when i connect them to my laptop, the side speakers don't work, i guess i need to connect all the four jack in my laptop. but i have only 3.
    any suggestions?
    i'm using X-FI MB2 mod for stereo mix :D
all works perfect, but in 5.1 mode, is there any way to make 7.1 working?

    big thanks in advance

If your speakers do 7.1 through only 3 jacks, I don't think it will ever work. The line out should be like this:

    • Headphone Jack = Front Speaker Out
    • Line-In Jack = Rear Speaker Out
    • Microphone-In Jack = Center/Subwoofer Speaker Out
    • S/PDIF-Out Jack = Side Speaker Out (for 7.1 Surround Sound Only)

It sounds like your side speakers are mixed in with the center/sub or something. To get 7.1, you should need to use 4 jacks.

Have you tried changing the settings around in Realtek to 5.1 and seeing if that at least powers 5 of the 7 speakers?

when i setup the speakers to 5.1 in Realtek the speakers works like standart 5.1 the only thing is missing is the side speakers .
so as far as i noticed it's impossible to play 7.1 throw 3 jacks :(
to get 5.1 to work i connect
    • Headphone Jack
    • Line-In Jack
    • Microphone-In Jack

the s750 (I have them too) only work with creative sound cards on 3 jacks.

You need to use one extra jack to get 7.1 on other cards.

You need to unplug the grey jack from the back of the subwoofer and replace it with a full cable from laptop to sub.

thanks, for the feed back, i think it should work now, the only thing i need to find a cable :D
but it's really strange that the 3 jack connection works only on creative sound cards . also as far as i noticed there is no new speaker system from creative, i mean multi speaker systems, i'm so happy with my s750 almost 4 years and no problem , it sounds really great .

the reason that 3 cables works only on creative is that they are custom jacks - 2 of them have 4 terminals - not standard...
It didn't even work on my audigy 2...
