I bought a MALIBAL P170EM a little over a year ago, and today my motherboard died. I am curious if there is a place to purchase a replacement motherboard or what my options are?

My warranty expired 3 months ago so that is a disappointment and talking to MALIBAL customer support it will a couple hundred dollars at least to have them do it. As I work on computers for a career I can do it myself I just need to find the parts.

    My symptoms are:
Was using the computer, left it for 5 minutes and it stopped working. No power lights while plugged in, battery was fully charged and was plugged in when I left it. Pulled battery out non functional, held power down nothing.

How difficult is it to get into these laptops and replace the motherboard? do I replace it with the same one or can you upgrade it? any assistance with this would be great.

If you got the machine from them and it is out of warranty , see how much they will just sell you the part for.

Could be RAM. Take out all of the sticks and put in just one to see if it will turn on. If not try another slot and a different stick of RAM.

I thought about the ram but the thing is it has no power light or charging light even when it is off and plugged in. These lights are always on so it seems the motherboard Is the best bet. Motherboards seem to be around $400 so that is a bit steep for me ATM, was wanting to check my options...

Remove the battery and unplug, and try holding down the power button for 30 seconds (yes, that long). Then try turning on.
