After setting my Malibal P170HM on the floor with headphones plugged into the audio jack, I accidentally kicked the headphones plug. It caused the small plastic ring around the audio jack to break. The port is still usable but if headphones are plugged in all the way, sound only comes out of the right speaker. I can get sound to come out of both sides but the plug has to be carefully positioned in such a way.
Is there an easy way to repair this jack or would it require a whole new motherboard? I'm fine with soldering and repair work if this is something that's doable. If so, I just need to find a way to get my hands on the parts.

No you can usually have a professional resolder a new jack, but they have to be able to find a replacement. Or if it's not soldered to the board, then it's probably just seated in the case and connected to the board via a power connector (similar to a mini molex connector).
Cost can vary but you're typically looking at up to $100 USD for jack repair/replacement for parts and labor. Or you can go to your reseller if under warranty, in which case you'd probably only need to pay for shipping.
Sorry if I missed anything - trying to multi-task like crazy right now.Let me know if I did and/or if I can help with any other questions!

Just thought I would update.
After opening up my laptop I realized that the audio jacks were on a daughter board, easily replaceable. I tried for a few days to source a replacement board but no luck. Finally I decided to try contacting Malibal to get a quote on a replacement board.
Malibal quoted me $65.00 without shipping.
I was very skeptical at the price so I decided to ask MythLogic who was my #2 choice of laptop retailer. They quoted me $35.00 plus shipping.
Needless to say I purchased the part through Mythlogic and assured Malibal that my next $2,500 laptop would NOT be purchased through Malibal. Very, very disappointed in Malibal's attempt to fleece a customer.
The part was replaced and everything works perfectly. Thanks MythLogic! -

Part cost may vary depending on when it was purchased and who holds the stock though that is quite a large difference.
