    Hey,

It has been a while since I posted in these forums.

Sadly, I've been experiencing some problems with my aging lappie.

The interesting thing is that it goes to sleep randomly. It is not shutting down, which I know is worse. But is this a symptom of hardware failure as well? This kind of occurs kind of frequently now and figured I should ask. I don't loose any data, because if I power it up again, I can pick up where I left off. At least I don't loose any work, but it kind of worries me.

I had it for 3 and a half years now, and I'm not expecting it to last for much longer, but random sleeps? That's annoying...

    Maybe it's something else, I don't know...

Oh yea, and I forgot to mention that I did not change my battery like, at all since I have the lap, cuz I mostly use it plugged in. Still, the battery is like 90% worn off. Could that be a problem?

Is your power button being wonky? Try going in your power settings and change the power button action to do nothing and see if that fixes it.

Ok... let's see if that solves it.

Yes, your power plan settings should be the first place to look. Is there any rhyme or reason to it? Maybe at least after a certain time has elapsed?

I had the same problem on my EM. Would randomly go to sleep or hibernate out of nowhere. While playing games, while idle, just whenever it wanted and at random times. I think a Windows update stopped it from doing that.

Windows updates are a good suggestion, we've seen that help with random things like this as well.
