I'm looking at a P170HM for a potential buy... but not sure about it really...

I was planning on buying a machine that had the 120Hz 3D screen from an Ebay retailer and wanted to know if the heatsink that comes on the stock GTX 560M will fit a GTX 580M?

If not, where do I get the different heatsink from?

isn't the heatsink included when you purchase the card from a reseller here?

If you buy a card brand new from a retailer, yes- it should come bundled with the heatsink.

I mean does the heatsink that comes with the 560M fit the 580M as well?

Nope different heatsink, now the otherway around would work 580m on a 560m, but not higher card with lower heatsink.

We have noted that there is a different thermal solution, heatsink for the GTX580M. This is to ensure that the GTX580M runs at a proper operating temperature. Considering that this card does have faster clocks, it would also produce more heat, obviously. :)
