I have no doubt this is due to a loose connector. I recently replaced the audio daughter board which required me to disassemble the laptop. I put everything back together and everything works fine but the status lights (power light, caps lock, num lock, wifi, etc.) lights are not on.

Does anyone know for sure what I need to do to get them to light up again?

    Thanks!

Only thing you can really do is take it back apart and make sure all cables and ribbons are connected properly. Find the one that runs those lights and unplug it even if it looks like its good, plug it back in and make sure its secure and moved in all the way.

Yeah, it should just be a small ribbon cable. Remove it if it's connected and reseat it, then try booting it up again to test while you still have access to the cable. If it looks good, then you can shut it down and reassemble. :) Be sure to ground yourself whenever you service it.

Yeah it was the ribbon cable. I had it in enough to provide power to the laptop but not enough to light the status lights.

    Thanks fellas!

I'm glad that's all there was to it!
