a bit more info would help.
cpu/gpu what was you doing at the time surfing or gaming and for how long.
does it happen as you switch it on or after 30mins 1 hour. have you over clocked. was it on a desk or your lap. how hot is it where you are.
the more info we have the more the community can help you.

    - Windows 7 Home Premium 64.
    - 8gb memory.
    - AMD Radeon HD 6900m.
    - i7 2720QM.

Its always sitting on a hard surface, normal temp, mostly around 20-25° C.

Happens randomly, don't know how to overclock, i was doing a few things at once :

    - browsing the web
    - played a windowed mmorpg
    - chatting on msn

    Thanks for the help.

    thanks.
im no expert but it could be dodgy ram stick or hard drive.
download HW Monitor to check on temperatures and HD Tune to run a scan on the hard drive. you can find them all HERE

What brand of hard drive do you have? Usually these machines comes with a Western Digital or Seagate. Depending on what you have, go to either manufacturer's website and download/run their diagnostic software. If you don't get anywhere there, download memtest86 (Google it) and create a CD to boot from your computer with it.

Expounding on what saturnotaku said, you can grab a very handy utility containing all those tools already :)

    Ultimate Boot CD - Overview

Great utility, suggest it for anyone wanting to troubleshoot their computer.

Did you order it with the Ram or did you put some in yourself? Sounds like a faulty stick. That's exactly what mine was doing until I replaced the Ram.

I was getting freezes until I upgraded my SSD firmware. It could be related to your USB 3.0 ports too.

There is a thread here somewhere with all them latest driver updates, ill try to update all my drivers see if that helps.

Btw, those programs you guys gave me, how exactly do i install them :s.

I seem to have 3 different kind of freezes :

    1. Laptop freezes and laptop reboots automatically.
    2. Laptop freezes and i have to hard reboot it.
    3. Laptop freezes and i get a blue screen with the following error : *** STOP : 0x000000F4 (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA8008B5CB30, 0xFFFFFA8008B5CE10, 0xFFFFF8002FCEF40).
