Got my laptop back from RMA under the dead pixel guarantee and that is fixed but I have noticed that I have slight backlight bleeding I think that is what it is called evenly around the edges of the screen all the way around.

Is this due to a poor replacement/screen or just a common thing that does happen? I am not sure if this was there on my original screen but I assume not as now I notice it.

Should I be sending it back again :( or just live with it? It does not bother me and I only see it on dark backgrounds and as it is glossy anyway light is the first thing to pick up the dark anyway. My only worry is resale value later on the down the line I want to be reselling it as mint condition like I always do but is this something that needs to be mentioned? If so I will send it back in.

My Qosmio does that. This is normal as far as I can tell. The LEDs are in the screen itself so it's one of those really built in things that you can't change unless you get a new screen entirely.

My screen has some backlight bleeding. Doesn't bother me at all. Only time I notice is when the laptop boots up and there is a black screen for a few secs.

Backlight bleeding is normal to an extent on all TFT LCD's. They way they're lit just means that some of that backlight will be noticeable (especially on black backgrounds).

Do you notice the bleeding mainly on boot when the screen is black, or in normal day to day usage? If you actually see it in the latter, then it could be a problem.

Yes mainly at boot but on some darkened backgrounds, well I will stay put I dont think my addictions could survive another week without the old girl :D

The dead pixel was a lot worse as well I would rather have bleeding.
