Hello guys!
I'm planning on buying a new 17 inches notebook for college work and gaming. Currently I'm undecided between these two. What are the differences between them and which one do you prefer?

P170SM is a mobile machine. Mobile CPU and Optimus is present.
P770ZM should house a desktop CPU and may NOT have Optimus present (though I don't know if this is fully confirmed yet).
The P170SM would have better battery life for sure, even with Optimus on the P770ZM.
The P1770ZM should have better out-of-the-box CPU power with a i7-4790K, but unsure of the cooling, or if it'll be a bare-die setup.
Please note that the P770ZM is not released yet, so details are not out yet. -
As D2 says, it will be as follows.. As far as we know, the 15" version is 100% confirmed however other then 1 benchmark, the 17" version has 0 info out there.. I'm really hoping to get the 17" version if it comes out soon..

If you are moving much at all then go for the P170SM

A few hundred mhz wont make a huge difference in gaming though with the current generation of chips in a single card config, it will be fun to bench but the practical application is not worth it for most people unless they are focussed on something very CPU heavy.

Just different power settings.
It will be fun to play with and is fine for those who just need a system that's very easy to pack up and move.
Of course for video editors and 3d renderes who demand high stock CPU performance it's going to be very nice. -
How about the keyboard? It looks different.

yup, its a newly introduced gaming keyboard by clevo. hasnt been offered yet in any previous model. lets wait and see what it brings to the table quality-wise

so far we only know the visuals / design of the keyboard due to the bluemobility & aftershock pictures, nothing else! looks sleeker than previous kbs if u ask me tho
