I am trying to get the kingston hyperx modules to run in 1600mhz.

Every time I try to run Intel Extreme Tuning Utility it states something along the lines of it cant contact the service.

I have tried 2 different versions of the XTU program with no luck.

    what is wrong here?
is the bios different? is something else possibly conflicting?

    HELP

You have a version of the BIOS that does NOT have XTU enabled. I would contact your reseller to get a version of the BIOS that has XTU enabled in it.

I had already contacted them and they stated I would have had the latest as the 3d model is only 2 weeks old or so.

I know this is going to seem stupid, but we've run over this before.

The XTU enabling is something specific that has to be requested. Not every Clevo BIOS has it enabled. I know we have collections of BIOS's of the same version that does and does not have XTU enabled. So its something that has to be requested from Clevo from the Importer.

really? I wasnt aware of such an option.

Do you not have the bios and ec for this model that you could upload with XTU enabled?

furthermore are there versions with additional features or more advanced features/options/tweaks etc?

    SOLVED

Reseller got a new bios from clevo.

Burn image onto cd/dvd. restart laptop with disc in drive. accept it on prompt screen. Done it will flash etc and then all u need to do is set bios and raid options. Thats it done.

Now XTU works fine. Ram at 1600mhz :D

The size wont allow me to attach it here for others.

No you can't. The P170HM is the only Clevo that has the HM67 chipset which allows XTU. You cannot overclock the HM65 on a chipset level. So it won't work =)
