Recently bought a GTX765M that was removed from an Alienware laptop. I installed it in my p170sm-a today and it is seen in the bios as a gtx765m. Im running W10 pro 64. It shows in the device manager as a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Ive tried Sager drivers and Nvidia drivers and all stop with no compatible hardware found error.

    What am I doing wrong?

I take it you modified the INF file for the drivers? Always good to share the solution in case someone else runs into it.

Exactly. I had to use modded display drivers to get it to install.
