    hey can people please post what there 4900mq max temps are i get about 90 ish and no throttle with the intel XTU load test but when i try to render hd videos that goes to 95+ and about 30% throttle i just want to know what is the best cpu temp test program and max temps please

    lots of monitoring software in my sig below.
    i use hwinfo64 / core temps / nvidia inspector / gpu-z / hw monitor

    mine hits the high 90c with xtu as that pushes the cores to the limit and normally downclocks for me but i have a different cpu than you.

    I found that xtu doesn't push my 4900mq hard enough to get accurate max temps

    try prime95 or furmark then.

    You can try a re paste and try seeing if you can slim down the thermal pad using a high performance 1 mm pad.

    Video rendering being a CPU heavy task and the 4900MQ having a higher intrinsic thermal output is going to yield high temps. A repaste with a good compound might help, as well as other small modifications/supplements you can make (copper RAM heat sinks, thermal pad that Meaker mentioned, laptop chill pad, etc.).
