    Hello Clevo/Sager-Fans,

i got some Audio Issues after i clean installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my P370EM.

The Realtek HD Audio-Manager let me choose in the Speaker configuration Stereo, Quadphonie, 5.1 and 7.1.
If i choose something else then Stereo, the other Speaker then the front ones (even the Center) get quit.
It shows me that it is setup correct, but u cant hear something from the Center, Surround Left & Right and the Subwoofer.

I already tried following Driver-Versions (from Station-Drivers - Realtek (Audio)):

    R2.74 (6.0.1.7030)
    R2.75 (6.0.1.7037)
    R2.75 (6.0.1.7040)
    R2.75 (6.0.1.7058)
    R2.75 (6.0.1.7059)

None of them is working correct, like they have done under Windows 7.

Did anyone got a Solution for this?

    Regards,

    Forsaked

Hey there, did you try the stock drivers from clevo site ? Audio driver (6.0.1.6743) for Windows 8. ?

1 First try this Open the thx truStudio Pro and activate the program, turning on surround and crystalizer (see if this work first) , then go to options of windows sound icon to speaker options and click on and the configuration then choose surround 5.1.

2 If not work uninstall sound driver and try the stock one from clevo site just for now and try the 1 step again.

Also look at the jack options in the advanced menu.

If i choose 5.1 in the Windows-Options or in the Realtek HD Audio-Manager makes no difference, both doesnt work.
The Speakers except the Stereo ones still doesnt make any sound, if i try the same Drivers on a Windows 7-System it works flawless.

In the realtek sound panel are your jacks detected?

Actually im talking about the internal 2.1 Speakers not the which could handle a 5.1 configration by simulating it.
With Windows 7 it was possible to set this up and get a great Sound out of this Notebook, but now it sounds like a tin drum.
The LFE which is build in isnt even active and the normal sound is really, really silent.

The Guide which i has written doesnt even work anymore, there must be something buggy with Windows 8.1 or the Drivers!

What I've noticed to work is this: Download the desired realtek driver (I use version 7058).

Once that's downloaded, go to Clevo Downloads, select P370SM, and OPTIONAL.

Download Creative SBX-Fi MB3 AP (1.00.04) for Windows 8 64-bit version. From the FTP Server CLOSEST to you.

Install the Realtek Driver as normal so that it's there.

    Then Install the Creative Driver.

Once *EVERYTHING* is in and the computer is restarted as necessary, go into the creative setup, and where you would select output... choose "built-in speakers".

Then go into the realtek control panel, select 7.1, full-range, and swap center / subwoofer. Go into the quality pane and change that to 24-bit / 192000hz. Click OK to activate.

Then go BACK into the creative, ensure that the last tab on the far right (when clicked) shows "built-in speakers". If so, you now have the onboard 7.1 setup with the creative driver doing its thing.

I have a P370 EM, which actually only has a MB2-Support if im not wrong.
On the Clevo-Site the only thing i can download is Creative SBX-Fi MB2 AP (1.04.01) for Windows 8.
But im gonna try the MB3 one when im back from work!

You mean in the THX-Settings right?

    Solved!

Actually i must first install the Audio-Driver from Clevo-Site and then i can update to a more new driver, a direct install of the new one doesnt work!

Ah, I did not realise you had not done that, due to the differences in all audio platforms installing the original sound driver first is a good idea as it usually installs a few extra functions which remain when you update the audio drivers which will replace the core parts of the driver but leave those extra bits.

I have the same problem. Any updates or I do need to install the driver from Clevo and then update?

Ok, tried with last Realtek driver + THX, 5.1, 7.1 not working, just stereo!

    1. Uninstall previous Realtek
    2. Instal new Realtek
    3. Config
    4. Install THX
    5. Config

    =(

I'm back, so, what I did:

    1. I was using R2.73 and 5.1 was not working
    2. Downloaded the Realtek from Sager Drivers site
    3. Installed (the setup first uninstalled the current then restarted than installed the "old" one)
    4. Installed R2.74 - realtek_hda_6017233( www.station-drivers.com) (same thing, this uninstall the current, and install the one that comes with the installer)

And after that my system stills (Internal Spekaers) doesn't work on 5.1

I don't know what to do!

PS: Everything I did was WITHOUT the "Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 AP for Windows 8".

The internal speakers are not 5.1, so they should be set to 2.1 really. 5.1 should be used for external sets.
