Hey guys, just wondering whether the P370em is louder or quieter then the P170em, assuming both are fitted with the same card (7970m).

It's my understanding that the P370em is a different cooling design. Fan noise is critically important to me, and as such I'd pay a premium for the P370em if it was indeed quieter. The SLI/XF capability is not needed, as there is nothing a single 7970m won't run suitably for me.

    Appreciate any input!

I'm interested in this too! According to Notebookcheck, it's quite audible when when idle and loud when under full load, but having verification on this would be great.

I plan to get the NP9370 with just one 680m over the 9170 (purely due to aesthetics/design). So, with that, I would like to ask another question. Could the other unused fan be removed, or would that be bad?

Is anyone able to answer my original query?

I suppose only a reseller who's had hands-on experience with two similarly specced machines could give an accurate answer.

The 370EM will be noisier since it has 3 fans in a single card config.

It wont be much of a difference, the 375sm will likely run cooler due to the new hs design.
