    Hello everyone,

With the entry of those new MXM Pascal cards i was itching to try one of those in my RIG!

Got the 1070 card from this LINK a week later the card arrived in my home.

After some test fittings had to file my heatsink this is what i did.

    IMG_20171024_231407-min.jpg

Then after i installed the card the computer booted just fine then i've proceeded to the driver installation. This is where my ordeal started.

First: After downloading the Nvidia's 388 version, i did not recognize my card:

    error.JPG

Then i searched around and asked a LOT, people were kind and help me out to find this thread HERE then i've downloaded the modded infs and booted my computer into TESTMODE (fking windows 10 creator update)
Then the driver now detects my card, proceeding with the instalation all is working fine, but when the driver is installed the LCD went blank, without knowing what to do i've rebooted the machine (finger off) and in the bios everything is fine even got inside it to take a picture of my Bios and EC version:

    IMG_20171025_022001.jpg

But as soon as windows take over the screen goes blank, then again looking around i find out that sometimes the card dont output the video on LCD only HDMI... ok

Plug the HDMI cable and now everything is working again, took another screenshot with aida64 extreme and windows driver manager:

    stats.JPG
Tested some games like DOOM in ultra the card did not pass 75ºC (167ºF). Asking around the forum some sugested that i should change the VBIOS and pointed me to this LINK saying that i should try to use the MSI vBios for it (MSI_N17E-G2_86.04.31.00.0C), others called me and said that i should call Eurocom support.

Right now i'm waiting for Eurocom and should i try the vbios or not? I have my bios backup exctracted with gpuz and again took another screenshot.

    gpu.gif

Any help is appreciated and suggestions too, should i change the notebook bios? vbios? wait for Eurocom??

    Anything helps!!

Yes, we have someone from our Support Team working with "andrewff2". Going forward we would required S/N of the system that the GTX 10 goes into so we can verify before shipping. "Andrewff2" purchased this card for P570WM3 not P375SM. The card works in P37xSM3 (120Hz eDP panel).

Yes in XTU, up the power 10W on both short and long turbo, set a target speed and see how low a voltage you can get to run it.

It's the basics of all overclocking here :p

Both, actually i don't know if running everything stock is not as good as it should be... trying xtu but i'm pretty bad at doing these kinda of things...
Temps are not the problem right now but the 1070 is having loads of PerfCap Pwr (green part in gpuz).

Here is a PIC... should i change the vbios for something else?

You would have to manually flash the vBIOS chip to do that but at this point that's your only option.

Way too low power limits. Set "long" power limit to 65W and "short" to 100W.
Like in all other mobile Pascal cards, your card is TDP limited.

Can i not change this?? i was looking around i found out that "1xxx nvidia series modifications can be flashed only with hardware SPI Programmer, by physically reflashing the vbios chip"

So i cannot change my vbios with nvflash...

I'm failing to see what is unexpected about those Timespy scores tbh.

My recent TS score is 4,3xx with 3940XM @ 4.5 (so the deficit given your lower clock is within expectation)
And my GPU score is 11,5xx which is approx double yours (again, expected given SLI)

There will be those out there that can either tweak really well, get a really good chip or both.

The system I tweaked was stable at 3.9ghz all day long.

Ok first of all, you NEED to fix your CPU. Don't let the CPU run on adaptive voltage, it's a disaster, I have a 4940MX and it's just being way to hot and drains way to much from the system without any reason. My CPU runs now @ 4ghz stable and 70s c on load, before it ran unstable 3.4-3.5ghz while being 90c, seeing that you have a haswell as well you should probably fix that as well.

As to why the card runs so bad, did you try and turn MSI afterburner on and see if it gives you any voltage or power lim errors?

@ andrewtff2 It's really not that hard, just read up on a couple of things and then you can do it as well.

This is why you should be careful when puchasing a vortex card. Only way to fix this is by modding the vBios, crossflashing is dangerous and can cause soft or hardbrick.

Maybe it would be a good idea to contact the Vendor or person who sold this item to you. Or as a last resort sell this card and buy from someone that will support it. This is the chance we take when it comes to modding.
