P377sm & Ws10 Compatibility?

Hello,
i threw my old alienware r5 for a wonderful p377sma, X8 eurocom.
I would like to know if some people are using it with ws 10 and if they have or not any issues?
Last tiem i lost my gtx980m from switching from aw to clevo as i still don't know for sure if it was ws 10 to blame or myself for a bad heatsink position.

Overall it seems to be going okay for people to upgrade. Though I think most complaints seem to be around the touchpad, fingerprint scanner, or keyboards (across Clevo in general). But with the 10 drivers actually coming out now, it should be less issues hopefully.

There is a forum for just 10 upgrades, and also the p377sma owners thread that might be worth checking out for what people have already reported on it.

 

I have the same laptop as you and I had no problems with any drivers AT ALL, I know others on different Sager models had problems with touchpad, fingerprint scanner, and things like that (as pat said) but I didn't have any problems like that with my p377sm-s when upgrading to Windows 10. So I have decided to keep windows 10 since I have had no problems and everything has been working great! Good Luck!

 

Everything working, also the fingerprint, touchpad. But seem more noise even in quiet mode.

 

Noise from fans? thats strange my fans are very quite unless I turned them on high manually with the fn+1 not sure what could be causing that.........do you have latest HotKey app?

 

its ok in sager website they upload ws 10 drivers and the new soft of hotkey allow custom fan

 

I have the Eurocom X8 as well and haven't had ANY issues whatsoever with Windows 10.

 

I've been on Windows 10 for a few days now. I haven't experienced any problems. A few games through Steam haven't loaded, but reinstalling or verifying the game cache has fixed those.

 

Seems the current models have had good luck with Windows 10. Just some older models with some touchpad etc issues.

 

Which seems a little backwards. Typically the longer a component is around, the more likely MS has a stable driver in their repository for it. It's newer hardware that Windows sometimes has no native driver for.

 

But then if the hardware is TOO old, it's considered legacy and rarely gets drivers written for it anymore.

 

And it doesn't take long before anything becomes "too old." C'est la vie.

 

Eurocom laptops are decently quiet, but it will not be as quiet as the AW17 you had was when you compare them both at idle. But not much more. To hear it scream, hit the Fn+1 key !
however, I think you are in a very very quiet neighborhood and environment and so the slightest noise is noticeable.

If you can hear it when at a coffee shop though, for instance, without gaming, as an example, then something could be wrong.

 

The new hotkey software allow to custom the fans temp, so we can put them in no noise mode with good thermal paste.
The noise idle is little in automatic mode but its not disturbing at all.
