Hello, im wondering what could have failed. Here are the details:

Heard a few beeps then it shut down. I forgot to count how many. When i try to turn it on, the Power button and orange indicator light in the front lights up for a split second then turns off. Along with the led on the power brick.

When power brick light is off, nothing hapens when pressing the power button. If i unplug brick from the wall and back in, the led will stay on forever. If i plug brick back into laptop, the light will slowly fade off.

During this time, the cpu and gpu fans spin for a second and then turn off but not the ram fan. Trying the fan in gpu or cpu slot, said fan works. No fan works in the ram fan slot.

Same results with onlt 1 ram stick in (i have 4 sticks in altogether), no cpu, no battery, no cosmos. Pulled one by one.

Also, same results with just battery and no ac plug.

Could it be a failed mobo or a dc jack issue, or something else?

Edit: When i remove the graphics card and plug laptop back up, it stays on for a long time about 20 to 30 secs and the ram fan now spins with the other 2 fans not spinning. The 3 cap lock lights above the keyboard to the right keep blinking/flashing together. While at the front of the laptop, the ac light is green while the battery light is green. When the cap lock lights stop flashing after 20 to 30 secs, the ac light at front of laptop turns orange while the battery light in same area is green. At this time, the powerbrick led stays on forever.

Try another power brick, otherwise it could be an electrical circuit short on the motherboard.
If you have an Avometer you can check if the PSU is giving the right outputs.

Hard to know, you have to try what I suggested, it seems you have a faulty motherboard, but try another PSU first.

this is the thermal sensor connector right? when i first opened it up, the glue that was holding it to the metal was crumbled and it came apart from the metal but was still plugged in to the socket. i pushed it back in and the old glue fragments kept it in. just ruling things out but this wouldnt have anything to do with it would it?

If the computer isn't turning on getting past the POST screen it's either power / BIOS. Since you're saying there's visual changes to the brick when attempting to power up there's your #1 suspect in the issue.

A quick way to TS the issue would be hop on Amazon and order a new brick for testing. This will rule out the power issue with the brick w/ the crumbling glue. If the brick form Amazon works then you know the culprit is the brick. If the issue persists though then it's either the DC connector or something more internal like a solder that's gone bad over time.

nothing comes on screen at all. same thing happens with just the battery as well. i have to wait til the weekend is over until i can order or ask specialists. this would be the 2nd time the mobo was replaced though. version i have now is 2.3a. And ive had it since 2013 i think.

Well, f the battery isn't charging due to the bad brick that would explain why it's not turning on. Can you verify the battery has a charge? If the screen went bad try attaching it to a TV as an external monitor to make sure the screen is still good.

So, the MOBO has already been replaced.... What was the issue before that?

battery is still full of power at the current moment.

780m from my sager machine sm3 (the thinner one from the p570wm) wasnt working inside of the new p570wm but it worked in the sager machine only and the ram type thats on eurocom website wasnt really compatible. they changed mobo out but the problem persisted. i still to this day think sager had drm on the card for it not to play in other reseller machines .

So i sold the thinner one w the 780m and bought a 980m from eurocom and the lower ramtype listed on the site a year in and everything was gravy.

Screen is still good. everyone is telling me its the mobo. eurocom and a few shops around town. eurocom doesnt have anymore edp boards. only the ldps ones. so im waiting for site i found to open so i can see if they got the right type

So, the power going orange just means the system shutdown / battery being green means it's charged / brick sounds ok w/ stable light being on.

So, it sounds like something else is going on other than the GPU like the BIOS needs to be updated or something else beyond that....

yeah thats when i think i stopped coming for a hot minute.

any recommendations for a cheap barebones laptop that can hold my current processor, graphx card, and ram?

Or a cheap single card laptop or mini pc that can give me at least 9800 to 10000 on firestrike without an overclock with 45 to 65 temps?

    update:
throughout the months before, i would hear a sputtering grinding like noise buzzing from the laptop. it woulf eventually stop. it happened a few times. wasnt happening when laptop shut off though.

but today eurocom rep said this:

"Probably a fan or temp sensor failure, or an issue with one of the video cards… You are getting the thermal alarm shut down. It is NOT advised to try over riding this as the machine will be damaged.

With the bottom off, power up the machine on its side, and press FN + 1. This will toggle system fans to full. Any fans not turning, will need to be replaced.

The fans could all work, but a sensor in the fan, or related circuits in the video card or mainboard may not be seeing the signal from the fan ( yellow wire typically)"

There was only ever one laptop with that socket, GPU wise anything of a similar age like the P150 series.

eurocom agent ended up saying it was the graphics card. so i bought a new 980m on ebay. the led light blinks out immediately on the brick with new card but fades out slowly for old card. What could that mean?

Also i released all the power and pulled the battery then put a card in and then plugged it and it made a giant spark. and a smell so i pulled plug out immediately...
